Highlights from Today...
This morning we began with a Place Value task where students used their flip chart to help determine the place and the value of the number represented For example 4589, the underlined number equals 5 hundred which is same as 500. We need to continue to practice reading larger numbers that are beyond 1000.
For literacy, we discussed the 5 vowels and specifically talked about the long and short a and different ways the long is spelled ai, a_e and ay.
After lunch we read chapter 7 of Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing, ask about what happened to Peter's poster.
We had an unexpected fire drill this afternoon with fire trucks and everything, and it was cold outside. In the end everything was fine and we went back in class for our music class.
Please take the opportunity to log into google classroom for this year. We would like students to be able to access google classroom if they are at home self isolated or if our class ever needs to be at home. - Dress for the weather, it is quite cool in the mornings for recess and we have been going outside for Phys. Ed and two recesses.
