Highlights from Today...
Chapter 9 of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing found Fudge lost in the movie theater, ask to find out more.
This morning we continued to practice how to identify the place and the value of digits within a number. Ask us to explain the difference between a digit and number.
We began our good copy of our All About Me poems on our background, they are turning out beautiful.
Reminders...
Today I sent home three things
- Prodigy log in information and passwords
- Raz kids log in cards
- Book orders - they will look different this year with a class code and delivery to homes
Conference booking opens today (at this point we are unsure if we will be calling parents or using Skype, please stay tuned...)
Next week on Monday, we will have some changes to our lunch time and recess therefore we are working towards having a morning snack around 10:15. Often students are hungry before this so I am encouraging them to eat a big breakfast and maybe have a quick snack around 8 right before school begins. Next week our eating time will be 12:20 where as it is 11:55 right now. This will give each group the same amount of time outside and space between the groups coming in and out to help avoid passing other groups.
Other changes that will occur beginning on Monday will be a soft entry in the morning as students arrive at school. Students will be able to go into their classrooms (through their designated doors) when they arrive and teachers will be in the room. We are hoping this will alleviate some congestion and allow us to get our day started without waiting in so many lines.
